I began this series when my son, Alexander, was born. He brought me new light! I have been sculpting them ever since, and the works keep evolving. Every winter brings with it fresh discoveries in methods and techniques.

I started this work during the pandemic. It was my way of spreading much-needed light during a dark time. We all have holes in our hearts that need healing, and as you look into and through these works, you can see the light on the other side.

Metal Wall Works

When we were kids and did a fantastic piece of art, its place of honor was when mom put it up on the refrigerator door. This was my first art show! Nowadays, I make art “out of” fridge doors. I take a drawing, project it onto a door, trace it with black magic marker, cut it out with a plasma cutter, then bend the shapes forward to create depth, and paint them. You can also add lights to make it pop! Wallah!

In the laboratory of my studio, I occasionally bring ice to life! I do this by fabricating body parts out of icicles. Arms, legs, and torsos of ice, and heads made out of snow make figurative work unlike any ever seen.
